Common Questions
No prior motorcycle experience is required for our First Riders Course or Basic Rider Course. These programs are designed specifically for new riders and those with limited experience.
No motorcycle or learner's permit is required for entry-level courses. Training motorcycles are provided. Permit or license requirements may apply for intermediate or advanced courses.
Safe Riders Academy provides properly maintained training motorcycles for beginner-level courses. For advanced or skill-specific training, students may be required to use their own motorcycle with prior approval.
All students must wear: DOT-compliant helmet; eye protection; long sleeves and long pants; full-finger gloves; over-the-ankle footwear. Students without proper gear will not be allowed to ride for safety reasons.
Some courses require completion of an online eCourse prior to the first day of class. If required, students must bring proof of eCourse completion to training.
Course length varies by program. Entry-level courses are typically conducted over multiple days and include both classroom instruction and on-cycle riding sessions.
Training is conducted rain or shine. Courses may be delayed, paused, or rescheduled in the event of severe weather such as lightning or unsafe riding conditions.
Yes. Successful completion of qualifying courses may satisfy or waive certain state motorcycle testing requirements. Licensing policies vary by state.
Instructors provide coaching throughout training. If a student does not successfully complete the course, options and next steps will be explained based on program guidelines.
Yes. Students must meet minimum age requirements set by state regulations and course standards. Valid identification is required.
Due to scheduling, equipment, and instructor commitments, refunds are subject to Safe Riders Academy's cancellation and rescheduling policy.
Absolutely. We offer refresher and continuing education courses designed to help experienced riders sharpen skills, correct habits, and improve safety.
